This is the Bev Stark breast cancer recovery update site.
Grace and peace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
God has done much good work in the healing of Bev's body. Her reconstruction continues on schedule into April will little or no pain and/or complications. Her final surgery will take place sometime in the near future, following a re-examination of her left breast.
Much of Bev's life, through the month of March, has been consumed with her Chemo-therapy treatments and the many side effects that brings. She began a new course of treatment at the beginning of the March and will finish the most intensive portions of those treatments in early May. The remainder of the Chemo-therapy will continue through the course of the next year. However, these drugs will have far less symptoms associated with them.
Bev has been receiving some form of Chemo-therapy each week since the beginning of March. Her symptoms range from, general fatique to bone pain as with the previous treatments with one exception. She has been having some spontantious bleeding from various mucus membranes. Most presumably her blood chemistry is off just a bit, but this is not totally unexpected. Subsequently, her treatments have been modified to include include some IV fluids to help counter act this condition. So far so good!
PRAISE REPORT:
With much thanks, and praise to God, Bev continues to grow in strength and stamina during her light chemo weeks. He hair also looks to be growing back somewhat, perhaps just in time for our daughter Abbie's wedding.
We want to thank you all for sending your loving gifts of food, heart felt prayers, flowers, and many cards for Bev's speedy recovery. She keenly feels your concern and God's provision for her life.
Blessings,
Dave and Bev Stark
